    Microphone Latency Windows 10
    1. Latency Windows 10
    2. Windows 10 Free Upgrade

HiI am relatively new to PlayIt - highly impressed! I have a slight problem regarding latency / delay on the microphone. I am using the Microphone Mix plugin, & a basic microphone into the line in / mic in socket on my laptop running windows 10. The microphone is delayed when I monitor from the laptop on headphones. I have de-selected the 'Listen to this device' box related to the mic & Stereo Mix but still get this latency problem.

Am I overlooking something obvious?Would a virtual audoi cable or something like the VoiceMeeter Banana mixer help, or am I totally on the wrong track here?Hope you can help. Many thanks.Jim Salmon. Hi Markthanks for the comments. Yes - I'd thought of the sound out & then back in again, & whilst this works, it seemed to be getting over complicated! If I go along that route I'll probably run from 2 laptops, with one into the mixer along with mic & then a 2nd one for the encoding to stream. That said, I have been playing around with the plugin more & after realising I had some levels set wrong on my laptop, have found that using the system & the plugin & selecting no playback, I can use it as intended with no latency. I can still occasionally monitor levels by selecting normal playback, but obviously this gives latency. So - a good result (thanks Jason)!

Having been used to sitting in a room full of equipment, I'm trying to go the other route & work with just a laptop & microphone! I'm almost there!Definitely a case of teaching an old dog new tricks! Thanks allJim. Hi MarkYes - all noted. It looks a good mixer, but out of my 'justifiable' spend range at the moment! Nice size & capabilities, & worth considering if I do more internet radio after my 3 days next February.I think I'm sort of achieving the same by monitoring the mic from the pc sound card rather than from the PlayIt output to encoder, but this only seems to work on a line-in mic rather than a usb mic. Usb mic still gives latency.Interested re BUTT - I was going to use this until I saw Jason's Internet Broadcast plugin, which I have downloaded & am aiming to use.

Windows 10: How do I fix the mic delay in Windows 10 1903 Discus and support How do I fix the mic delay in Windows 10 1903 in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; I'm using my laptop as a Karaoke and I get a severe delay from the microphone making it unusable. Behringer UM2 Windows 10 Driver Install and Latency Settings September 18, 2018 RadioZane Off Audio Tutorial, Behringer, Video, UPDATE In this video we look at the Behringer UM2 Setup Driver on Windows 10 Driver and adjust the latency in the control panel. I have noticed, in comparison to what I heard when I was using the XP system, that there is a slight delay in hearing myself in the speakers when I speak in the microphone. I have the microphone (uses a 1/4 inch plug, not a USB microphone) and 2 music keyboards connected to a mixer board, which is then plugged into the mic jack on the back of.

At the moment I am not doing any live streaming - just using auto dj so haven't used it yet. Would be interested to know if there are any differences worth thinking about, & if I use a separate pc dedicated for streaming then maybe BUTT is the right solution? - however, I hope to do all this from one pc & so presumably Jason's plugin is the right answer?Have to say, the old days of cd players, mini discs, mixers & all into the back of the compressor / limiter & then into the TX were far easier to understand!!CheersJim. Hello Jim,Your mention of processing is, in my view, the critical point.Great as PlayIt Live is, other than the envelope manipulation that is possible at the transition between tracks there isn't any level control.

Application of some form of loudness processing (effectively mimicking replay gain) on the music files is adequate for home listening. Hello Jim,To a degree B.U.T.T.

And the PlayIt plug in do different things. The PlayIt plug in is able to take the mixed PlayIt audio and convert it into an audio stream. Unless you use 'virtual' audio connections B.U.T.T. Needs a soundcard input to connect to. The PlayIt plug in can also stream from a 'real' input.Since the PlayIt plug in uses the audio produced within PlayIt Live, there is no need for level control, B.U.T.T. Can alter the level of the audio being streamed and provides a reasonable level meter to do this with, however this provides more opportunity to get the gain distribution wrong!B.U.T.T. Has various recording options (although perhaps the likes of Audacity would be a better recorder).I've found both reliable. My view in summary, there is a lot to like in B.U.T.T.

But if the PlayIt plug in meets your requirements it is very simple to use.

I spoke about this before but I will try one more time. I have been going around in circles for weeks with this.About 18 months ago I had Cubase working okay on my machine and then I upgraded it from W7 to W10 and I did a clean install but some of my synths had terrible latency problems on it, so I put W8 on another hard drive and upgraded it to W10 and put my music production software on it and it was okay. I kept it like that up until recently and I could go between the two hard drives and one was okay and the other wasn't. Eventfully I cloned my good drive over to my bad one and it sorted it and I had two good drives.Just recently I put an NMVe SSD in my PC but I couldn't boot W10 from it until I took off W10 on my other hard drives - a big mistake. Then I put my music production software on it but it had terrible latency issues again.

But though telephone support a Microsoft technician sorted the latency out for me, but I still had trouble booting from it and Asus told me the NMVe was not compatible.I have just done a fresh install of W10 1703 onto an ordinary SSD but it has terrible latency issues again, so I got in contact with MS but two technicians could not help me the latency. I'm gong to have to put a back-up on I have of my good version of W10 but it is 18 months old and it cannot be upgraded to any later versions of W10 because it will grind to a halt and MS technicians cant help me with it.It's mystery because no one else seems to have this problem, but it is not my PC or the hard drives because the back-up I have of my good drive works okay when I put it on, latency issues gone.Is there anything I can do to tweak up my W10. I don't know what the original MS technician did to repair my system, but the other two technicians did not know either, and I cant think of anything myself. Switching off all background services does not sort the issue, but anyway, on my good back-up I don't have to turn off the background services and it works fine.I sometimes wonder if only a scientist Ph.D.

Who studies PC's all the time will know. Who can I ask on the internet if no one can help me? Turning off background services might be the cause of the issue. I had an issue on Win7 that was solved by enabling Control Panel-Administrative Tools -Services-Application Experience.

It seems it was trying to determine the 'application experience' of certain exe's and would hang up until some kind of timeout occurred. I had it disabled. When I enabled it, the issue was solved. This may or may not solve your issue but it could be related. So try re-enabling all of those services and see if it corrects the problem.

If that works, start disabling them again and testing after each enable. Please let us know which one caused your problem and/or any dependencies.

I haven't got an Application Experience, I do have Application Management and the Startup type was set to manual. Then there was Application Layer which was set to manual as well. I will get back to you because I put my True Image back-up on another SSD and the latency is fine. I now have two hard drives with W10 on, one is build 1703 and the latency is bad, and the other is build 1511 and the latency is very low.

    Windows 10 Free Upgrade

It's a mystery as there is nothing wrong with my PC because everything runs fine on my 1511 SSD. MS might sort it out so I will occasionally boot the other SSD drive with 1703 on and get the updates. I can also check the Administrative Tools to see what differences there are although there is a lot of stuff there. It would be great to get to the bottom of it.
